Michelle Lujan Grisham Demonstrates Superior Grasp of Issues, Solutions for Middle Class During Debate
ALBUQUERQUE – Democratic Congressional Nominee Michelle Lujan made the case during tonight’s candidate debate for why voters can count on her to create jobs for New Mexico families, improve education, and protect women’s access to health care.
“We’re going to have to fight for jobs and economic security for the middle class,” Michelle Lujan Grisham said at tonight’s forum, hosted by KOB-TV. “We’re going to have to fight to make sure that we aren’t saddling our college students with more debt today than all of the auto and credit card debt in this country. I’m going to fight to make sure that women have protections for comprehensive healthcare and reproductive justice in this country- it’s an economic security for women and their families and I’m going to fight to protect it.
“This is an environment where so much is at stake and New Mexico families can’t afford to wait.”
Throughout the debate, which was co-hosted by AARP, Michelle Lujan Grisham showed her superior knowledge of the issues affecting seniors and provided real solutions to protecting the guaranteed benefits provided by Medicare.
“What we need to do is focus on preventing and treating chronic disease much more effectively,” Lujan Grisham said. “In New Mexico where diabetes is one of the number one concerns, this is hundreds of millions of dollars back to Medicare.”
