Michelle Lujan Grisham Shines in TV Debate, Highlights her Commitment to Stand up for New Mexico Families
ALBUQUERQUE –Opponent Struggles to Take a Position: Democratic Congressional Nominee Michelle Lujan Grisham used tonight’s live television debate to explain to voters how she will stand up for them in Congress.
“For more than three decades I’ve been standing up for New Mexico families,” Lujan Grisham said, as she told TV viewers how she went undercover to expose the neglect at a long-term care facility that eventually shut down.
“As your candidate for Congress, you deserve to know where I stand and what I’ll do,” she said. “I’ll be a champion for the middle class. I will fight to put New Mexicans back to work. And I will protect a women’s right to make her own healthcare decisions.”
Throughout the debate, sponsored by KNME-TV, Michelle Lujan Grisham took a stand on issues and offered positive and realistic solutions to the many problems that Americans face.
Lujan Grisham said she will help small businesses get access to cash so they can expand and hire more employees; fight for more investments in New Mexico infrastructure projects in growing industries like health care; and partner with our national labs to create more jobs, especially in the renewable energy industry.
“That’s what we’re looking for in Congress today,” Lujan Grisham said. “Somebody who will take a stand, who will take a position, who will move those issues forward, not blindly follow the Ryan budget but then talk about how you’re going to protect seniors, you’re going to protect veterans, you’re going to make sure that we have a balanced approach, you’re going to protect the labs because this effort in Congress does exactly the opposite.”
