Michelle Lujan Grisham Endorsed by Pueblo de Cochiti

ALBUQUERQUE – Congressional candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham announced today that she was endorsed by the Pueblo de Cochiti.

The Cochiti Tribal Council threw its official support behind Lujan Grisham, who continues to build a groundswell of momentum heading into the general election.

“Based on Michelle Lujan Grisham’s past advocacy and understanding of our pueblo, we strongly endorse her to represent the 1st Congressional District,” said Cochiti Governor Phillip Quintana. “We need more fresh voices in Congress who actively work to create jobs for our families and increase access to quality, affordable health care.”

Michelle Lujan Grisham has a long and proud record of achievement as a result of her relationships and her respect for the traditions and needs of New Mexico’s pueblos and tribes.

Michelle was appointed by three New Mexico governors to serve as Director and Cabinet Secretary of the Department of Aging and Long-Term Services. She also served as the Secretary of the Department of Health. During her productive tenure, Michelle ensured that tribes and pueblos were a priority for state government, directing state and federal resources toward the unique needs of Indian country, while respecting the sovereign Indian nations.

“I am honored to have the support from the Pueblo of Cochiti, and I look forward to representing their interests and all our native communities,” Lujan Grisham said. “All tribes and pueblos were a priority for me in state government where I directed state and federal resources to the unique needs of Indian Country. I will do the same when I go to Washington, while always respecting the sovereign Indian nations.”
