Michelle Lujan Grisham Endorsed by Electrical Workers
ALBUQUERQUE – Democratic Congressional Nominee Michelle Lujan Grisham was endorsed today by the labor organization representing more than 2,700 electrical workers around the state.
“Michelle Lujan Grisham has an impressive record of putting working families ahead of special interests, which is what we need in Congress,” said Chris Frentzel, Business Manager of IBEW 611. “Our members need a strong voice in Washington to stand up for worker’s rights, including skilled workers who play a critical role in the building and maintaining New Mexico’s infrastructure.”
During her term on the Bernalillo County Commission, Michelle Lujan Grisham has created hundreds of new jobs in her district and she has ensured workers are treated fairly during contract negotiations.
“In Congress, I will focus on the Middle Class by increasing opportunities for working families,” Michelle Lujan Grisham said. “We need to prepare for the jobs of today and tomorrow, which means cultivating our skilled workforce and ensuring their contributions to our economy are never overlooked.”
IBEW Local 611 has been representing electrical workers in the State of New Mexico since 1914. They work in a variety of fields, including electrical construction, skilled positions with utilities like Public Service Company of New Mexico and electric cooperatives around the state.
