Michelle Lujan Grisham Endorsed by Jemez Pueblo
ALBUQUERQUE – Democratic Congressional Nominee Michelle Lujan Grisham was endorsed today by the Pueblo of Jemez, which joins a growing list of New Mexico tribes, pueblos, and nations that embrace Michelle’s campaign to fight for working families. The Pueblo of Jemez is a sovereign nation located in Sandoval County with about 3,400 tribal members.
“The Pueblo of Jemez proudly endorses Michelle Lujan Grisham for Congress,” said Jemez Pueblo Governor Joshua Madalena. “Michelle understands and embraces the two-way relationship between sovereign governments. I look forward to continuing that relationship with Michelle when she is in Congress.”
“It’s an incredible honor to have the endorsement of the Jemez Pueblo,” said Michelle Lujan Grisham. “Pueblo leaders know they can count on me to get things done. It’s time to push some of our federal agencies to be more accessible and more responsive to a variety of issues that are important to tribes and pueblos.”
As a result of her experience as a leader in health care and aging issues, Michelle worked closely with tribes and pueblos to effectively increase options and access to Medicare and Medicaid services and reimbursement, which has benefited the entire state.
“Working together, we also have a better coordinated system of health and social services to meet the health-related needs of Indian seniors,” Lujan Grisham said.
