Michelle Lujan Grisham Endorsed by American Federation of Teachers New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE – Congressional candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham has received the endorsement of the American Federation of Teachers New Mexico.

“AFT New Mexico is proud to stand with Michelle Lujan Grisham in her campaign for Congress,” AFT New Mexico President Stephanie Ly said. “As a true education supporter, we know that Michelle will stand with us to positively reform education in a way that produces the best possible outcomes for students and educators.

“We are at a critical juncture in the road of education policy. Michelle understands that using standardized testing is not an adequate way to measure student growth or educators’ effectiveness.”

Michelle Lujan Grisham said she is proud to have the endorsement of the AFT.

“Teachers know that I stand with them and I will be an aggressive advocate for them in Congress,” Lujan Grisham said. “I will stand up to those who are demonizing teachers and trying to tear down our public schools. We need to invest in teachers and improve our schools and ensure that they work for New Mexico families.”
