Michelle Lujan Grisham Endorsed by State Rep. Antonio “Moe” Maestas

ALBUQUERQUE – Congressional candidate Michelle Lujan Grisham received the endorsement of state Rep. Antonio “Moe” Maestas, a champion of Albuquerque’s West Side and a progressive leader in the Legislature.

“Michelle is the kind of fighter New Mexico needs in the U.S. Congress,” Maestas said. “She has the courage to stand up to extremism and the strength to provide the leadership necessary to get things done in Washington.  Michelle will rise above the noise of our current political discourse and do what right for women, working families and be a leader in rebuilding our economy here in New Mexico.”

Lujan Grisham said she looks forward to working with Rep. Maestas to fight for working families on the West Side. “This election is about the future of the Middle Class, and we’ve got to do everything possible to get people back to work and do something about the debt that is preventing working families from saving for education and retirement,” Lujan Grisham said.

Rep. Antonio “Moe” Maestas represents District 16 on Albuquerque’s West Side.  Born and raised in Albuquerque, Rep. Maestas worked in Seattle as a community organizer at El Centro de la Raza and then as a union factory worker while receiving his B.A. from the University of Washington in political economy.  After graduating from UNM School of Law, Rep. Maestas served as an assistant district attorney for five years at the Bernalillo County DA’s Office prosecuting DWI and domestic violence cases.  Rep. Maestas has been a small business owner the past eight years managing his own law practice, The MoeJustice Law Office.

In Santa Fe, Rep. Maestas has fought for better public safety by emphasizing efficiency in the criminal justice system, financial literacy classes in all NM High Schools and incentives for small business start-ups to create long term economic growth.
